I was born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in october, 1970. I studied Computer Science at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (1995). I obtained my PhD from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2003 with the work entitled "Estudio experimental de métodos de calibración y autocalibración de cámaras" [ps] [pdf]. Actually, my main research interests are robotic and computer vision systems.

Here I outline a bit the main projects where I have been involved since I started working in robotics and computer vision:

DESEO: This was a system conformed by a robotic head that made real-time tracking of human faces. During tracking, it opportunistically tried to make face recognition in order to identify specific persons. It managed to track successfully one person, and at a lower rate was able to track two persons. Here you can find more information.

ELDI: In this project we developed an entertainment robot for the Elder Museum of Science and Technology. The project has its own web site (in spanish) where it is possible to find further information.

Camera Calibration: My Phd has been carried out about the study of methods of calibration and self-calibration of cameras. The source code used in this study is available.

Now, I am working in the implementation of models of visual attention for autonomous robot.
